       About Qi Gong

Qi Gong (also written as qigong, chi gong and chi kung)

Qigong has been around for approximately 3000 years. Originally devised by the Taoist Monks because of their sedentary lives, and extensive static meditating. There are many types of Qigong methods and style one of the oldest being Fragrant Buddha.

Qigong defined

The nearest definition of the words Qigong in broad terms is:

Qi = internal energy or air (air is the most common description because of it's Oxygen content)

Gong = exercise - So the word QIGONG, simplified, means 'breathing exercise' or loosely 'internal exercises'

Colin Stevens was tutored in 'fragrant buddha qi gong' by Tan Sau Tang and now teaches this set which involves a series of gentle movements performed in a stationary standing position. With proper guidance, these movements will help relax the tension from the body and allow the 'Chi energy' to flow.
